We assist authorized service centers and independent service facilities around the world with electronic module repairs and technical support. We specialize in Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini and Porsche diagnostics. Please contact our team to discuss how we can advise your service team.

We regularly see the following issues that cause module failure:

Improper jumpstarting a dead battery by reversing polarity or applying to much amperage with the vehicles key in the ON position will almost instantaneously burn out the engine ECU, body module or even more CAN modules in the car. When we regularly bench check these modules we are able to detect multiple high amperage spikes.

Many vehicle transport companies have drivers that are not trained to understand this and how the grounding planes of aluminum and carbon fiber vehicles differ than conventional. If you think your vehicles battery was improperly boosted please call us to discuss further on how we can assist.

Removing the ECU or TCU from the vehicle without disconnecting the battery usually will lock up the vehicles security immobilizer systems if the key is in the cars ignition or ACC mode. This is very common for the vehicle owner to do by mistake or even a service shop that isn’t trained in doing so on an exotic car. Our staff will always send you by email full instructions with photos to prevent this from ever happening when you inquire about performance tuning services.

The installation of improper replacement parts using generic and non OEM compliant parts that have tolerances below OEM values. These components  can cause the CAN network to throw codes that most technicians can not even decode. Components such as fuel injectors, O2 sensors, coil packs rebuilt parts from local auto parts suppliers such as alternators and starters. We have found many cases that rebuilt parts of the electrical charging system “over charge” and cause module and ECU failure. Always bench check before installing these components for proper voltage functions to not exceed the factory specified values.

Using a non-factory OBD2 Diagnostic tool such as the Leonardo, Texa, Autologic and SD5 are among the most common. These non-factory tools are clones of the factory tool without the factory network support.  All diagnostic tools even Factory Dealer Diagnostics have software and network support issues and if the end user does not have extensive experience they can easily ruin the vehicles CAN system by hitting the incorrect prompts such as PROXY. When this happens the vehicle will be DOA and require ECU repair along with extensive troubleshooting and software patches to restore.

If your service team is finding CAN Communication Errors, CAM Timing Errors, Immobilizer Errors, Readiness Failures for SMOG and DOT please contact our team to discuss various repair protocols.

Vehicles that are neglected, abused or salvaged through fire and flood are commonly purchased today. Owners think the repairs will be easy and they will eventually be driving their dream car for half the cost. Little do they realize the nightmares they are about to embark on during this repair process. Eurotek works with independent shops all over the world in getting these complex cases up and running, passing SMOG and DOT. Eurotek is able to locate any wiring harness or ECU or CAN control unit required to complete the vehicles repair at a fraction of the costs of the dealer. In many cases a dealer is not able to supply special parts such as a new ECU unit for up to 9 months for older vehicles. Do you really want a car taking up space in your shop that doesn’t run and costs you money? Give us a call today to discuss ECU repairs and to check stock on our inventory of replacement ECU hardware and CAN modules for these repairs.

Vehicles that have been hacked up by aftermarket custom shops for installing radar detectors, stereos, or other components including poorly executed ECU tuning attempts. Almost all aftermarket custom shops have no factory trained background in the technical complexities of these exotic cars. These individuals have not been trained to repair, diagnose or work on cars of this level. We regularly see cars with cut wires, damaged ground leads, cracked ECU cases and main-boards and even aftermarket accessories tapped into the CAN BUS, SRS Modules. Over the years we have even come across cars with magnetic field interference that caused the F1 sequential style gearbox to pop out of gear under full throttle. The complex nature of vehicles that fall under this category must be taken seriously if you want the vehicle back up and running. Factory authorized Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati and Porsche  service centers will not even take your vehicle into their shop if they see evidence of aftermarket electronics, damaged ECU cases, tampered odometer clusters etc. As a result these “problem” vehicles get tossed around to small independent shops who struggle endlessly with no results. We get calls each week under this scenario and its disconcerting to learn about these cars and the struggles the independent shops face.

Authorized and Independent Service Centers if your shop is burdened  with a problematic car and you are not able to progressively repair it for the customer please give us a call and work with our team in getting those cars repaired and delivered. As a shop owner you must consider that having any exotic vehicle that is DOA is a liability under your roof and costing you money each day by taking up a work bay.
